Dining Cabinets - Hoosiers

I have wanted an old tattered Hoosier cabinet for a long time--both to store dining area things like napkins and wine bottles, but also because they are really beautiful pieces of furniture.  Unfortunately the space I have to fill is probably too narrow for most of the ones I've seen on Craig's List or Ebay, so I'm still looking.  Here are some other cabinets I've like that could fit in the narrow space I have.

Hoosier Cabinet , Ebay $999

Hoosier, Ebay, bids only

 Paulette Server, Ballard Designs $1099

Bedford Tall Cabinet, Crate and Barrel $1499

Elan Bar Cabinet, Crate and Barrel, $1299

Farmhouse Buffet and Hutch, World Market $450

Overhead Kitchen Lighting

Time to nix the HIDEOUS overhead light in my kitchen.
I'd like to update everything about the kitchen, but like the rest of my home, that will have to happen one find at a time.  Here are some ideas.

This 28" light from Wayfair has 3 bulbs is very flush to the ceiling.   $208

The Nauset Lantern Shop's Pogue Ceiling light is 12" wide and hugs the ceiling $249

2 Light Flush Mount from Wayfair is 19" wide $134

Roderick Collection 17" Flushmount  $290

Pillows!

One Kings Lane has some GREAT pillows today.  I want to buy them all, although I don't need them all.  Sales end Wednesday or Thursday, but of course availability is limited.

Ceiling Fans

Like everything else in my home, the ceiling fan I need for my bedroom needs to be compact with limited arm span (44").  These are tight to the ceiling since they are only 8' and have a light.

with a remote in many colors and is $259.

The Concept II by Minka Aire at Lumens.com is $250 and gets great ratings.

The Midili 44" from Hampton Bay may not be close enough to the ceiling.  I am going to measure.  Its under $100.

The Casa Habitat Oil-Rubbed Bronze fan is Small enough at 44" and $229.

The Casablanca fan is also 44" but has 5 blades which may circulate air better.  $339

The Acero from Restoration incorporates old school industrial and modern seamlessly. $439

Dining Area Lighting

At long last we are getting wired for overhead lighting in the dark--is this chicken or salmon--dining area.  The light needs to be small scale since the table is small.  I am considering a pendant or maybe the glass jar look.

Victory Pendant from CB2 is 25.75" diameter $149

Pottery Barn's Calhoun Glass Pendant is 12" diameter and $149

Pottery Barn's Exeter Jar Pendant is 10.5" wide and on sale for $99

Williams-Sonoma Home's Sloane Single Shop is interesting but expensive $595

The Filament Pendant from Restoration comes in different sizes $295 on sale

I have seen many variations of this pendant but I love RH's weathered zinc finish the best.  And it comes in different sizes.  Vintage Barn Pendant - $199 for 14" inch on sale.

The Burlap Barrel Chandelier from RH has a really different shape.  $395 on sale 25"

The Vented Warehouse Pendant from Barnlight Electric comes in a ton of finishes and has the option of a cage.  Prices are $119 and up.

West Elm's Industrial Bulb Pendant for $99 is cheap and different.

The Industrial Steel Drum Light is wide - 20" and great for bigger spaces.  $595

I love the glow these mason jars cast on this BootsNGus Canopy on Etsy.  $299

This glass ball pendant on Etsy is $162

Lucent Lamp Works on Etsy has so many amazing choices $118

Blue Moon light also has some fun options.  $109

Bookcases

I am looking for a bookcase for my 105" living room wall.  Definitely considering built-ins but I love the look of rustic wood and metal and can't seem to commit to the look or price of built-ins.  Here are a few I've found that might work really well.

This Wisteria bookcase is made from Recycled Pine 73"w x 17.75"d x 79.75"h  $1799

This Restoration 1950's Dutch Shipyard Shelving is on every decorator's mind I've noticed.  I love it so much I walk into the store just to admire it, but its just not wide enough.  63"W x 18"D x 96"H  $3295

The Restoration Hardware French Casement bookcase fits well and is gorgeous but I realized when I went to the store that the doors may swing out too wide and I'd like to put a chair in front of it. 87"W x 20"D x 91"H  $3295

The Hudson Goods Bookcase is about half the price but lacks drawers and height.  71w x 16d x 79h  $1695

And above are some built-in examples from NYCremodeler.com that may sway me to go that route.
